In 1900, the German physicist Max Planck (1858–1947) described the ultraviolet catastrophe by proposing that the energy of electromagnetic waves is quantized rather than continuous flow. Quantum physics theory clarifies the physical properties of nature at the scale of atoms and subatomic particles.
According to Planck’s quantum theory, different atoms and molecules can emit energy in discrete quantities only.

When an electron absorbs energy, it moves from one orbital to the next orbital. When an electron falls from one orbital to the next orbital it emits energy.
The amount of energy emitted is exactly the energy difference between the two orbitals. Because of this energy is divided into a discrete value called “quanta”.
As per Planck Theory, the quantized energy was electromagnetic radiation emitting from electrons in hot objects. As per Einstein’s theory photons transfers their energy to electrons in the metal.
If the photon energy was high enough, the electron would leave its orbital. So, Bohr’s electron orbitals provided a theoretical explanation for quantum mechanics.

In all electrical appliances, we notice the glow of the red light which is because of quantum physics.

In our cameras, the lens catches the photons and focuses them on the sensor which in turn throughs out electrons.

The basic element inside a computer is known as a transistor which utilizes the basic electronic properties of Silicon (semiconductor. As we know electrons in semiconductors behave like a wave, thus all computers use quantum mechanics.
Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs)
